Sang Han This is just simply great. There is an effortless rhythm that is so pleasing to listen to in Romain’s songs, and this album continues to prove his excellence in delivering that crisp pleasantness. Favorite track for me is Scuffle, followed by Otter Nonsense. I look forward to what he does next! Favorite track: Scuffle.

about

Welcome to Otter Island!

I cannot think of a game I worked on in recent memory that was made with more love by its team than Danghost.

It's hard to describe this album because it blends together so many things and its influences are really multiple. I feel this is the culmination of a lifetime of experimentation and practice, and I'm so happy with a thousand musical decision of various sizes that I made at every note. I think it shows that this was the most fun I've had in years, taking inspiration from all over and blending it together while trying to maintain a lightness and musical sense of humour. Oh, and that game-y feeling that Danghost really called for. This soundtrack was also a substantial sound design effort, as I know you can hear.

I can only hope that you enjoy listening as much as a standalone album than in the context of the game's quirky dialogue and action. I realise now that I sort of never wanted to stop making this; and as my mission on Otter Island s over for now, I feel a strange feeling of separation from Tatana, Kukupin, Momoni and the other characters. I will miss them, hopefully only temporarily.

Thanks: Arnaud Mollé, DK Chow, Aaron Brown, Sam Hulick, ElMobo
Thank you all for contributing one way or another in making this music better than if I was left to my own devices. I am grateful for your wise ears and constructive criticism:

Special thanks to William David for recommending me to Umeshu Lovers in the first place! This collaboration wouldn't even have existed if it wasn't for you.

The main menu track of the game, "Otter Island", is missing from this album because it was made by a third party at Procyon Studio in Japan, well before my involvement with Danghost started. I would love to have it featured on this album for the sake of completeness, but sadly this wasn't possible. at this time.
